Yes! You are welcome to just come along and see how you like it - speak to one of the team and introduce yourself. We have rackets available for you to use. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Young people aged over 12 are welcome to come along as long as they are supervised by an adult for the duration. It is advised to come to the earlier time and arrive just before 6pm. However, on busy nights, the main courts get full and the side areas can be used to practice as confidence and competence grows. There is no coaching offered by the club. We can lend out rackets if need be.
Non-members enjoy 3 nights at $15/night before being asked to join the club.
Members pay $10/night plus annual membership of $60 (which includes insurance through Queensland Badminton Association)
We provide feather shuttlecocks for all the games each session. We can also lend you a racket, but you may like to buy your own once you get hooked! There are plenty of members who can advise and explain the different racket types.
You will need to wear fitness clothing and appropriate trainers/court shoes.
The standard size of a badminton court is 20 feet wide and 44 feet long for singles matches, and 20 feet wide and 68 feet long for doubles matches. At Caboolture Badminton Club, we offer court marking tapes to ensure your court is regulation size.
A forehand shot is hit with the racket's face facing towards the net and your body, while a backhand shot is hit with the racket facing away from the net and your body. It's important to practice both shots to be a well-rounded player. At Caboolture Badminton Club, we encourage you to help improve your game.
Footwork is crucial in badminton, and the best way to improve is to practice drills that focus on agility, speed, and coordination.
We do not offer coaching at this time.
